Narrow Passage Chapter sponsored a monument to Peter Muhlenberg, minister and Revolutionary War General that was dedicated on October 1, 1988. Each year on October 1, which was both his birth and death dates, Narrow Passage holds a wreath laying ceremony to honor his memory and legacy. As a newly appointed Colonel, he was charged with, and quickly raised the 8th Virginia Regiment, also known as the German Regiment, from volunteers in eight counties, including what is now Shenandoah.
